| Nissan has always enjoyed a strong motorsport presence and since entering the off-road arena have totally dominated the championship.
The winning streak began in 2001 when Nissan won the first off-road title it contested, with Giniel de Villiers and Francois Jordaan. Duncan Vos repeated the win in 2002 with Mike Griffith. 2003 saw Hannes Grobler and Richard Leeke victorious for an amazing third consecutive year. A win was again assured in 2004, this time with Hannes Grobler and Francois Jordaan. Nissan secured the championship again in 2005 when Alfie Cox and Ralph Pitchford prevailed. Hannes Grobler and Francois Jordaan teamed up in 2006 to repeat their victory, this time in the new all-powerful Nissan Navara.
And if that wasn't proof enough of the Navara's prowess, it's also been voted 2006 Double Cab of the Year by Caravan and Outdoor Life Magazine, and Best Bakkie 2007 by Bakkie and Truck Action Magazine.
