Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) with M-mode
By selecting from a near-infinite number of ratios, Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) keeps your engine in its most efficient range. The result is better fuel economy. But what you feel is optimal power. Along with the incredibly smooth ride, acceleration is constant, linear. You feel the rush. Not the shift shock. When climbing hills, Xtronic CVT tailors the output to suit the incline, rather than jumping from gear to gear. Murano’s Xtronic CVT also features a six-speed manual mode to let you "shift" for yourself.

3.5-Litre 172kW V6 Engine
Great news from Ward's Auto World. Under the bonnet, Murano has "the dominant V-6 benchmark...without question." Then, there's the easy-breathing 24-valve double overhead cam design. And "a tidal wave of torque." Like 318Nm of torque at 3,600 rpm-ideal for climbing hills. Just point and drive.

VQ Technologies
What's the secret behind Murano's power? Something we call VQ technology, which combines the use of precious metals, lightweight materials and race-bred engineering. An aluminium engine block, cylinder heads, and pistons add up to light weight and superior strength. Friction-reducing measures include molybdenum-coated pistons and a micro finished crank and crankshafts, which help the engine operate more smoothly and last longer.

Multi-link Independent Suspension
This advanced rear suspension design features aluminium components for better reaction. A unique lateral link and control rod that helps keep the wheels perpendicular to the road — giving you more tire-to-road contact. So although you'll be hugging the road, you won't feel every bump. And compliant bushings that result in less shock transmitted to the cabin.

Sports-tuned Suspension
Murano comes with a sport-tuned suspension. It features firmer springs and strut/shock absorbers for an extra-firm, extra-tight ride.

All-Wheel Drive
It might be raining, icy, even snowing, but you're prepared. Murano’s All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, with its superior traction and handling, can help negotiate even the most challenging conditions. And because it's automatic, Murano switches seamlessly between AWD and front-wheel drive, giving you either the optimal control of AWD or the optimal fuel economy of front-wheel drive. What's more, you can lock in AWD, at lower speeds, by simply pressing the AWD lock button.

Vehicle Dynamic Control
Vehicle Dynamic Control is an advanced system designed to help you stay on your steered path. If your vehicle begins to oversteer (fishtail) or understeer (plough forward), VDC can reduce engine output and/or apply appropriate brake pressure to specific wheels. View

Traction Control
Traction Control System (TCS) helps limit wheel spin during acceleration or on a slippery surface. This cuts fuel to one or more cylinders, or applies the brakes when needed.

Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
Every Murano is equipped with a 4-wheel Anti-lock Braking System that helps you maintain steering control during braking.

Electronic Brake force Distribution
Electronic Brake force Distribution helps compensate for times when there's more weight in the rear (cargo, passengers, even a full fuel tank) by sending extra force to the rear brakes.

Brake Assist
Brake Assist — as its name implies — increases braking force, most notably in quick stops. By sensing the speed at which the driver presses the brake pedal, Brake Assist immediately applies maximum available power boost, potentially reducing the overall stopping distance by eliminating the delay in the driver not braking hard enough, soon enough. Letting up on the brake pedal releases Brake Assist.
